How is my donation spent?+
Reef Without Borders uses donations to support coral reef restoration work in the field. Most funds go directly toward field operations, including dive-based restoration activities, followed by scientific documentation and community training with local partners. Administrative costs are kept as lean as possible to maximize impact in the water.

As a newly formed nonprofit, we are building our first active restoration program. Our financial reporting, including Form 990 filings, will be published as required once our first fiscal year is complete.

If you have questions about how funds are used, you can contact us at any time.

Clarisa Strohmeyer, Founder
Who is behind this

I’m Clarisa Strohmeyer, founder of Reef Without Borders. I’ve been diving in the Philippines for over 25 years.

During that time, I’ve seen reefs I know well gradually decline; bleaching events, dynamite fishing, typhoons, overfishing, and warming waters have changed ecosystems that were once thriving.

Reef Without Borders was created to focus on practical coral restoration in the water, working alongside local communities who depend on these reefs every day.

Our goal is straightforward: restore damaged reef systems and support the people and ecosystems connected to them.

Dindo C. Paquibot, Director of Dive Operations

He works closely with local partners and ensures field activities are conducted safely and efficiently.

What we do

Simple mission. Hard work.

Reef Without Borders restores coral reefs in Cebu, Philippines. We grow coral fragments, plant them on damaged reefs, and track whether they survive. We work with local divers and fishing communities, and we film every dive so you can see exactly what your money paid for. Our first restoration mission is scheduled for Q4 2026.

Where your money goes

How we budget the first mission.

We are pre-launch, so instead of claiming a spending history we do not have, here is how funds are budgeted for the first Reef Rescue mission.

Why coral reefs matter

Small ecosystems. Enormous stakes.

Coral reefs cover less than 1% of the ocean floor but the impact of losing them reaches a billion people.

Reefs support about 25% of all marine life despite their tiny footprint
Over a billion people rely on reefs for food, income, and coastal protection
Reefs shield coastlines from storms, surge, and erosion
The Philippines sits in the Coral Triangle, the most biodiverse marine region on Earth
Restoration works: damaged reefs can recover when coral is replanted and protected

Give once. See the reef come back.

Your donation funds the dive, the coral, and the science. Every dollar is documented and reported back to you.
